9.4 Grams of Meth Seized in Probation Search
Local authorities are believed to have interrupted a drug deal while performing a probation search on a residence located on City Park Road in Westmoreland.
According to Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons, information was received that stolen property was located at the residence, and because the homeowner – 56-year-old Ricky Joe Anderson – was on probation, a search warrant was not required.
When officers arrived at the home a second man, later identified as 31-year-old Brandon Broderick, attempted to flee police by running out of the back door.
“Due to the evidence at the scene, we believe we interrupted a drug transaction between Mr. Anderson and Mr. Broderick,” the sheriff stated.
During their search of the property, officers discovered stolen guns, a stolen motor, drug paraphernalia, other miscellaneous stolen items and 9.4 grams of methamphetamine.
Ricky Anderson was charged with possession of a schedule II drug and unlawful possession of a weapon. His bond was set at $4,000.
Brandon Broderick was charged with possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and evading arrest. His bond was set at $4,500.
Both men are currently out on bond awaiting their court dates.
