Two men have been arrested and one remains at large for the theft of approximately $4,500 worth of items from a west Macon County residence.
According to Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons, several items, including weapons and a tire changer, were stolen from the property over the weekend and, after receiving leads, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department teamed up with the Allen County Sheriffs Department in a joint investigation to locate the stolen property.
“After investigating leads and conducting a search, the stolen items were recovered close to the Tennessee-Kentucky state line,” stated the sheriff. “Following several interviews, two individuals were also taken into custody.”
The two individuals, 30-year-old Jack J. Martin and 50-year-old Ricky Scott Bolen, were both charged with theft over $1,000 and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Bolen and Martin were transported to the Macon County Jail where they were each booked on a$10,000 bond. Additional charges are also pending.
“A third suspect related to the case fled, and has charges out against him,” Sheriff Gammons explained. “He is believed to be outside of the state.”
The owner of the stolen items was notified by authorities and the property was returned.
Sheriff Gammons would like to thank the Allen County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in the case and urges anyone with information regarding criminal activity to contact his office at (615) 666-3325.
