Bulldog Baseball Action

RBS Bulldog baseball started in full this past week.

The team was in action for four games.

In the first game of the week the Bulldogs travelled to Clinton County KY. Things would fall apart for the Bulldogs in the 4th inning as Clinton plated 6 runs enroute to a 10-0 win. Cole Dziekiewicz went 1 for 2 and Dustin Bergdorff and Bailey Anderson went 1 for 3. Cameron Cothron and Chase Long pitched and gave up 9 hits, 6 earned runs, and 5 strike-outs.

Even with the threat of weather Pickett County travelled to face RBS. The Bulldogs fell behind early 0-3 thru 5 ½ innings. Then the Bulldogs plated four runs in the bottom of the inning to get the come-from-behind victory by the score of 4-3. Dziekiewicz and Matthew Murphy were on the mound and they gave up a combined 3 hits, 2 earned runs and struck out 10 batters. Cothron went 3 for 4 and Dustin Bergdorff went 2 of 3 with 3 RBIs on the afternoon.

On Thursday Mar 23rd Red Boiling faced the Jackson County Blue Devils. Kendall Thompson took the mound and allowed 8 hits and 7 earned runs in 3 innings. Logan Wattington threw 2 innings in relief and allowed 3 earned runs on 2 hits. Dziekiewicz collected the only Bulldog hit on the day as Jackson County won 12-0 in 5 innings.

The week ended by hosting the Wildcats of Livingston on the 25th. Dustin Bergdorff threw 3 1/3 innings and gave up 6 earned runs on 6 hits with 1K while Wattington came on in relief and pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed no earned runs on 3 hits. Murphy finished the game with one inning and gave up 8 ER on 6 hits with a strike-out. Livingston gets the win by a final of 18-1. Both Bergdorff brothers, Dziekiewicz, Murphy, Anderson, Chase Long, and Dalton Thompson collected hits in the game.

This week the Bulldogs will face Goodpasture at home on the 27th and away on the 28th. They will travel to Edmonson County KY on the 30th and host Clay County on the 31st.
