“We received information he was at a barn, and deputies went to locate him,” stated Macon County Sheriffs Department Detective Darrell Taylor. “When officers arrived, Mr. Strong fled on foot – leaving behind his truck and his girlfriend.”
Stolen property was discovered inside the suspect’s truck and Strong’s girlfriend, 26-year-old Cassandra Egan, was arrested on drug charges. Additional charges are also expected to be filed against Egan.
Officers discovered at least $20,000 in stolen items from residences, businesses and construction sites, linking Strong to five confirmed thefts in Macon County thus far. Other items were found to be stolen out of Kentucky and Smith, Monroe and Jackson counties in Tennessee.
