Local authorities are asking for your help in locating 31-year-old Jeffrey Strong, who fled from officers last week and is wanted in numerous theft cases across the county.
According to Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons, Strong was developed as a suspect in numerous break-ins that have taken place over the past several weeks in various areas across Macon County including Willette, Akersville and West Fork Creek.
“We received information he was at a barn, and deputies went to locate him,” stated Macon County Sheriffs Department Detective Darrell Taylor. “When officers arrived, Mr. Strong fled on foot – leaving behind his truck and his girlfriend.”
Stolen property was discovered inside the suspect’s truck and Strong’s girlfriend, 26-year-old Cassandra Egan, was arrested on drug charges. Additional charges are also expected to be filed against Egan.
Officers discovered at least $20,000 in stolen items from residences, businesses and construction sites, linking Strong to five confirmed thefts in Macon County thus far. Other items were found to be stolen out of Kentucky and Smith, Monroe and Jackson counties in Tennessee.
Large ticket items believed to be stolen by Strong include a hot tub, a four-wheeler, three trailers, two air compressors and an electric motor. Smaller items include various tools, construction equipment, soccer equipment and household items.
“If anyone has information regarding Mr. Strong’s whereabouts, please contact the Macon County Sheriff’s Office,” sheriff Gammons remarked. “Callers have the option to remain anonymous.”
