Tigers Compete in Two 8AA Doubleheaders

This week featured two doubleheaders for the Tigers while dodging raindrops.

They were both against district foes Livingston and Cannon County.

After the weather cancelled a scheduled game at Livingston on Mar 27th, the opponents would play a double header in Lafayette on Mar 28th. In the first game the Tigers just seemed snake bit as they stranded runners in 5 of the first 7 innings, with bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 7th inning. Bryson Smith pitched a fantastic game throwing 8 innings, allowing 2 hits and with 7 strikeouts. Eric Kuster came in for the 9th and allowed 2 hits. Tyler Gann and Isaac Belton both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Macon lets one slip away as Livingston wins the opener 1-0 in 9 innings.

The second game was much like the first with a premium on fine pitching by both teams. Jake Reeves took the mound and got the complete game win, throwing 7 innings and scattering 4 hits and no earned runs. Austin Herbert went 2 for 4 while Michael Ashburn went 2 for 3 scoring one run and had 2 stolen bases. The Tigers fight back and score the winning run in the top of the 7th inning to secure the 2-1 victory.

Macon was scheduled to face Cannon County on Friday Mar 31st in another district doubleheader. The game were rained out and rescheduled for Saturday.
