Another Serial Theft Suspect Behind Bars

By Jessie Williams
Another theft suspect was captured by authorities last week for multiple burglaries and thefts across Macon county.

According to sheriff Mark Gammons, his department has been attempting to locate 30-year-old Derrick Keith Jamison for some time for his suspected involvement in a series of crimes.
Macon County Deputy Jacob Law was recently able to track Jamison to a residence on the west side of Macon County, off of Highway 141.
“Mr. Jamison was able to allude the officer but approximately 15 to 20 minutes later, officer Law spotted him at the residence,” sheriff Gammons stated. “Additional officers were called to the scene, and the suspect was discovered hiding inside the home.”
Jamison was in possession of stolen firearms, tools and other miscellaneous items. There was also evidence at the scene to connect him to thefts in Sumner County.
He was booked into the Macon County Jail on charges of failure to stop, manufacture of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, weapon: prohibited, possession of a schedule VII/VIII drug, evading arrest, financial responsibility violation, criminal trespass, theft of property (2 counts), aggravated burglary and trespass: criminal aggravated.
A General Sessions Court date has been set in this case for May 24, 2017.
