Lady Tiger Softball Action

The Lady Tiger softball continues to play a vigorous schedule. This week they faced Upperman and played in a TN Coaches Assn Tournament in Clarksville.
 
The Lady Tigers weren’t able to play the district game against Livingston Academy on Monday Apr 3rd. That game will be rescheduled for a later date.
 
The hopeful from Macon County traveled to Upperman on Tuesday Apr 4th. The Lady Tigers took it out on the Lady Bees with an offensive explosion. Jenna Russell and Morgan Carter scored on RBIs by Carter and Keeley Clariday in the 1st followed by runs by Russell, M. Carter, Sarah Carter, Clariday, Makenzie Mercer, Meagan Frye, and Cidney Woodard from RBIs by Woodard(2) and M. Carter(2) in the top of the 3rd inning. Macon added runs by Russell and M. Carter in the 5th and Paige Clark, M. Carter, and Olivia Belton in the 7th with RBIs by M. Carter, Belton(2), Gracie Malo, and Raini Gerometta. Gerometta got the complete game victory pitching 7 innings allowing 7 hits 4 earned runs and 6 strike-outs. Macon wins the blow-out by a score of 14-5.
 
Over the weekend the Lady Tigers played in a TN Coaches Association Tournament in Clarksville and continued to face some top level competition. On Friday they tied Russellville 2-2. Allyson Shoulders went 3 for 3 and scored a run while Clark gets no decision throwing 7 innings. Later they would beat Lincoln County, KY 2-0 behind Shoulders pitching 5 innings allowing 5 hits with 6 strike-outs. Frye would hit a two run home-run which proved to be the difference.
 
On Saturday Apr 8th Macon first faced AAA Summitt, TN. They thrash them 12-4 in 4 innings. Gerometta gets the win throwing 1 1/3 with 3 hits and 3 earned runs and Clark comes in and throws 2 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit and has 4 strike-outs. Clark went 3 for 3 at the plate with a solo home run while Woodard goes 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs. In the second game Saturday Macon faced Larue Co, KY and beat them 5-4. Shoulders(W), Gerometta, and Clark combine for the 7 inning game and allow only two earned runs. Morgan Carter went 2 for 2 and Gerometta and Frye each had 2 RBIs. In the semi-final game the Lady Tigers lost to DII(private) Tipton-Rosemark Academy, out of West TN, by a final of 6-8. Clark threw 2 innings and allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits and Gerometta threw 3 innings and allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits. Russell went 3 for 3 at the plate while Morgan Carter went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
 
The only game on the schedule this week ia a home game against Livingston on Apr 11th. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
