By Debbie Gregory

Emergency personnel and law enforcement were called to the construction zone at the bottom of the Hwy. 10 hill on Wednesday, April 12, where a two vehicle wreck was reported.

According to wreck investigator, Trooper Cody Ballard, 35-year-old Jael Vega, of Lafayette, was driving a northbound white 2002 Honda Civic and 28-year-old Jonathan Rose, also of Lafayette, was driving south on Hwy. 10 in a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck. There was a male juvenile passenger in the Honda Civic.

“Mr. Rose was traveling south on Hwy. 10 when he crossed into the northbound lane hitting Ms. Vega’s car,” said Trooper Ballard. “Ms. Vega and the juvenile passenger were both transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.”

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Mr. Rose was charged with due care.

Those responding to the scene were the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriffs Department, Macon County EMS, and the Macon County Chronicle.
