One arrest was made and approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine was seized by deputies of the Macon County Sheriffs Department earlier this month.
According to Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons, officers were on the look out for wanted subjects around the Ivy Lane area in eastern Macon County in early June when they arrived at a residence where the wanted suspects were believed to be living.
“Upon their arrival, the officers observed marijuana plants outside of the residence,” the sheriff stated. “While they were there, a vehicle pulled up, and the driver was discovered to be driving on a revoked license. The subject was also in possession of a handgun and a green, leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, was found inside of pack of cigarettes. He was placed under arrest.”
While authorities aren’t releasing the suspect’s name, he was charged with driving on a revoked license, unlawful possession of a weapon and simple possession of narcotics.
While looking for more individuals at the residence, officers also discovered digital scales, products used in the manufacture of meth, marijuana residue and other items that indicated meth was being produced for the purpose of resell.
Approximately 20 grams of finished methamphetamine product was also seized by officers.
The sheriff added that the case is still under investigation, criminal charges are pending and his department is currently in pursuit of additional suspects believed to be involved.
