Two Killed in Monday Crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle wreck on Hwy. 52 West, at the North Lambert Road intersection, on Monday afternoon, October 23. As of press time, one was confirmed dead. We have since learned that a second individual has also passed away from his injuries.

According to wreck investigator Trooper Cody Ballard, Michael Mandrell, age 48, was driving west on Hwy. 52 West in a white 2015 Nissan Armada, along with his wife, Jennifer, who was a passenger.
Holden Crowder was driving east in a 1998 Ford Taurus with his passenger, Charles Blackburn, who was later confirmed dead.
The Macon County Chronicle learned Tuesday, October 24, that Holden Crowder did not survive his injuries.
All four people involved in the wreck are from Macon County.
Trooper Ballard told the Macon County Chronicle that the Taurus crossed over the center line and struck the Nissan Armada head-on.
All four people were transported to out of town hospitals for treatment.
Those responding to the scene were the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriffs Office, Lafayette Fire Department, West Macon Rescue, Macon County EMS, and the Macon County Chronicle. 
The Macon County Chronicle contacted Anderson & Son Funeral Home, in Red Boiling Springs, and they verified that Charles Blackburn would be brought there.
