Lafayette Man Charged with Vehicular Assault & DUI

Cory Thomas Russell, age 48, of Lafayette, was arrested Thursday, November 30, after striking a man with his vehicle while under the influence.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Officer Keith Tillman of the Lafayette Police Department, Mr. Russell was driving a vehicle on Meador Drive while under the influence and hit a young man who was blowing leaves in his yard on the side of the roadway.
The victim, Hunter Dickens, was transported for medical attention.
Russell was charged with vehicular assault, driving under the influence and driver to exercise due care.
He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on December 13, 2017.
