Drugs Stored on Child’s Play Kitchen

By Jessie Williams
A Red Boiling Springs couple was arrested on drug and child abuse charges after authorities discovered they were using a child’s play kitchen to store drugs and drug paraphernalia.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Red Boiling Springs Police Officer Mark Bartley, he and Chief Kevin Woodard responded to a report of domestic violence at 215 Grandview Dr. on Friday, December 8.
One of the residents, Rachael Marshall, age 22, opened the door.
“I saw in plain view, beside the door, was a child’s play kitchen set. Marijuana was sitting on top of it with a bong, set of scales, marijuana roaches and a crushed up white pill (Suboxone),” Bartley’s report states.
A sawed-off shotgun, a glass bong and some small bags containing a green, leafy substance were also found.
The other resident of the home, 26-year-old Davyd Olmeda, was searched by Chief Woodard, and a glass pipe and small amount of marijuana were found in his possession.
Both were arrested and charged with child abuse, simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Olmeda was also charged with manufacture of narcotics (2 counts) and possession of a prohibited weapon.
A General Sessions Court date is set for January 3, 2018.
