By Debbie Gregory
The Lafayette Fire Department was notified on Monday morning, January 8, that the home located at 3899 Highway 10 south was on fire.

The two-story white wood frame home, which is located just before you get to Meadorville Church, belongs to Scott Wolfe and family.
The call came in a little after 8:00 a.m. and according to Fire Chief Troy Brawner, upon arrival the rear of the home was on fire and it quickly spread to the attic.
“We were unable to save the home, and it was a total loss,” said Chief Brawner. “According to the owner the estimated loss of the home is $400,000 and another $100,000 in music equipment was also destroyed.”
The Lafayette Fire Department utilized one engine, two tankers, a utility support truck, along with 15 firefighters. They also received mutual aid from the Trousdale County Fire Department.
The firemen were on the scene for several hours and the fire rekindled around 3:00 p.m that afternoon.
The original part of this house was built in the 1800’s and it had been remodeled a few years ago.
Those responding to the scene were the Lafayette Fire Department, Trousdale County Fire Department, Macon County EMS, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriffs Office, and the Macon County Chronicle.
