The Macon County Tigerettes came home to play in the Nera White Christmas Tournament. They had previously won their six other holiday contests.

Then the Tigerettes would go on to shoot 8 of 16 with 4 of 9 three pointers, while only allowing three Portland baskets in the 2nd quarter, Macon led 44-18 at halftime.

The Tigerettes kind-of went on cruise the rest of the game with the entire bench getting playing time. They would go on to win by a final score of 63-47.

In the semi-finals the Tigerettes faced the Lady Indians from East Robertson. It was obvious early in the first half that one team was simply out-gunned and out-matched. Macon led 22-2 and 28-8 at halftime. Everyone on the bench got at least a full quarter of play in the game. The Tigerettes would shoot 22 of 51(43%) and hold their opponents to 4 of 32(17%) in a contest they dominated. Final score Macon 63 East Robertson 17.

Scoring was: Gregory 10, Mix 8, Shoulders 8, Jamie Ashburn 8, Keeley Carter 7, Bullington 6, Scott 6, King 3, Emily Ashburn 3, Morgan Carter 2,and Taylor Ward 2.

Now the Tigerettes would face the Lady Tornadoes of Alcoa in the finals. Macon led early but missed a lot of shots. Macon jumped out to a 23-12 lead after the 1st quarter and you felt it should have been worse. The Tigerettes increased their lead to 42-26 at the break and most fans thought this game was over. However the Lady Tornadoes finally started to play some basketball. They cut into the lead and trailed 44-53 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Alcoa was able to cut the lead a bit more and the Tigerettes were able to hold them off and grab a 67-59 win. It was good to see the Tigerettes tested and be able to pull out a win in crunch-time.

Scoring was: Keeley Carter 20 and 12 rebounds, Bullington 20 and 10 rebounds, Gregory 10, Shoulders 5, Mix 5, Morgan Carter 3, Jamie Ashburn 2, and King 2. Eimly Ashburn and Ward played but did not score.

Coach White wanted to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the tournament. He said the team was glad to get another victory and “nobody’s counting, but that was 14 (wins) in a row.”
