MCHS Softball has Busy Week

The Lady Tigers of MCHS slugged their way to a few more wins this week. They defeated Gordonsville and district opponent Watertown before playing in a weekend tournament in Cookeville.

On Monday Mar 26th Macon hosted the Gordonsville Lady Tigers.  Allyson Shoulders got the win and threw 2 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits 0 earned runs and striking-out 5. Rani Gerometta came on in relief and threw 4 1/3 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 earned runs, and striking-out 5 in the Macon 8 to 4 win. For the game Abby Shoulders went 4 for 4 scoring 3 runs while Rachel Ritchie went 1 for 3 and scored 2 runs with 2 RBIs.

On Tuesday Mar 27th Macon traveled to 8AA opponent Watertown. MCHS dismantled the second set of Tigers they played in the week by a final score of 14 to 3 and they left 9 runners on base. Morgan Carter went 4 for 5 scoring 1 run with 2 RBI while Meagan Frye went 3 for 3 scoring 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Madilyn Goodall went 2 for 4 scoring 2 runs and Gerometta was 3 for 4 scoring a run. Allyson Shoulders threw the complete game allowing 8 hits, I earned run, and striking-out 7 in the game. 

With a few injuries the Macon County limped into a weekend tournament at Cookeville, hosted by Clay County.  Due to the rain all the games were rescheduled for Saturday Mar 31st. In the opening game Macon defeated Monterey 8-1, then won over Larue Co(KY) 6-1, lost to Lenoir City 1-2, and lost to Clay Co 0-1.

Macon will be back in action on their spring break as they will face Livingston Academy on Thu Apr 5th.
