Tigers Split with Upperman

The Macon County Tigers split a pair of district games with Upperman this week between raindrops.

Upperman came to Lafayette on Monday Mar 26th. The Tigers plated a run in the bottom of the 1st inning before Upperman tied the game in the 6th inning. Macon would score 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to capture a 5-1 victory.  Jake Reeves went the distance on the mound scattering 4 hits, allowing no earned runs, with 6 strike-outs for the complete game.  Reeves helped his own cause going 2 for 2 while Kade Allen went 2 for 3. The Tiger runs were plated by Aaron Colter(2), Cameron Mercer, Cole “One Bit” Carnahan, and Ty Lowhorn.

The next day, Tuesday Mar 27th, the Tigers traveled to Putnam County for the rematch with the Bees. Again Macon scored in the 1st inning to take thelead. However Upperman scored three in the 3rd and one in the 8th to grab a 4-1 win.  Trent Boles and Carnahan both went 1 for 3 and Isaac Meador went 1 for 1 batting. Isaac Belton walked and scored the only Macon run.  Logan Thompson records the loss pitching 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 earned runs.

The Tigers went to Cornersville to play in the Viking Classic on Easter weekend. In the early game on Fri Mar 30th they defeated Cornersville 5-0 and lost to Heritage Christian(IN) 1-4 in the last game. On Sat Mar 31st Macon defeated Hubbard HS(OH) 10-1 and Louderdale Co(AL) 9-3.

During the MCHS spring break the Tigers are scheduled to face Jackson Co on Tue April 3rd and host Gordonsville on Thru Apr 5th.
