Sheriff’s Dept. & DEA Team Up for Nat’l Drug Take Back Initiative, April 28

The Macon County Sheriffs Department would like to invite residents to participate in the DEA’s National Drug Take-Back Initiative on Saturday, April 28.

On this day, you are urged to take your unwanted or expired prescription medications to the Sheriff’s Department where a disposal receptacle is located in the lobby.

“We encourage people to take part in this event and use this opportunity to make sure their medications are disposed of correctly and don’t wind up in the hands of a child or someone other than the patient it was prescribed for,” said Sheriff Mark Gammons.

This special event date was set aside by the DEA, however the disposal receptacle is available in the lobby of the sheriff’s office for your convenience every day.

For further questions contact the Macon County Sheriff’s Department at (615) 666-3325.
