Two Arrested for Burglaries

By Jessie Williams

A Lafayette couple was arrested last week in connection to at least two burglaries on Garrett Road.

According to a report filed at the Macon County Sherif’s Office, two detached garage burglaries were reported on Garrett Road and many of the items stolen began to pop up for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Selling the items were 34-year-old Lindsay Thompson and her boyfriend 31-year-old Adam Wiseley – who has a lengthy theft rap sheet.

Sergeant Kyle Petty and Detective Shane Gregory interviewed the couple at their residence and discovered that some of the stolen items were still inside their apartment. Meth was also found among the items.

Most of the stolen items were recovered by authorities including welding equipment, power tools, antiques, glassware and vehicle batteries.

The estimated value of the stolen items in both theft cases is $3,500.

Adam Wiseley was charged with burglary, theft of property (2 counts), vandalism and violation of probation. His bond was set at $4,500.

His girlfriend, Lindsay Thompson, was charged with theft of property.

Additional charges are pending, and this case remains under investigation.
