Trio of Suspects Arrested After Running Out of Gas

Three individuals were taken into custody last weekend after running out of gas on Sycamore Valley Rd. 

 

According to reports filed by Officer Joey Wilburn of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, he and officers Michael Veatch and Larry West were dispatched to a residence on Sycamore Valley Road September 9, after it was reported people were arguing by a vehicle that ran out of gas. 

The individuals were identified as 35-year-old Jason Long of Red Boiling Springs, 30-year-old Sarah Patrick of Hartsville, and 34-year-old Jason Law of Lafayette. 

Mr. Long was found to have active warrants in Kentucky, and Mr. Law was found to be wanted by law enforcement in Trousdale County for violating his probation.

When Mr. Long was taken into custody, authorities discovered a crystalized substance believed  to be meth, along with scales, numerous baggies and needles in his backpack. 

In their initial questioning of Miss Patrick, she gave them a fake name and social security number that belonged to her sister.

After receiving consent to search the vehicle, officers found a woman’s wallet in Patrick’s immediate area that contained a baggie with a crystalized substance inside, also believed to be meth. 

Patrick’s real identify was later discovered.

While being booked into the Macon County Jail, a baggie of marijuana cigarettes was found on Miss Patrick during the search process by a corrections officer. 

She was charged with possession of a schedule VI drug, introduction of drugs into a county institution, criminal impersonation, and manufacture/delivery/possession of meth. 

Her bond was set at $18,200.

Mr. Long was charged with manufacture/delivery/possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $11,000. 

Both individuals are scheduled to appear in general sessions court on Sept. 26. 

Mr. Law was not charged with anything in Macon County, but was apprehended to face charges in Trousdale County.
