Macon County Child Rape Suspect Arrested in Michigan

By Jessie Williams

A Macon County man who fled from a 2015 child rape charge, is now behind bars thanks to the joint efforts of the Macon County Sheriffs Department and the U.S. Marshals agency.

According to detectives, a sealed indictment was obtained on October 14, 2015 by Lieutenant Darrell Taylor, for 25-year-old Lucas Adam Tracy on the charge of Rape of A Child Under the Age of 13, and a capias was issued for his arrest.

Authorities became aware that Tracy fled the area and continued their investigation, notifying the U.S. Marshals service for assistance.

In August of 2018, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office received information that Tracy was in Michigan, and a warrant for Tracy’s arrest was sent to the U.S. Marshals Office.

On August 17, 2018, Mr. Tracy was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Oceana, Michigan, and a Governor’s Warrant was issued for his extradition back to Macon County to face his charges.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office was notified, and deputies transported him back to the Macon County Jail on November 21, 2018.

Tracy’s bond was set at $30,000.
