Man Charged in Theft of Seven Vehicles

A 26-year-old Fountain Run, Kentucky, man was arrested last month for the theft of four trucks, three four-wheelers and a 16-foot trailer in Macon County. 

 

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Macon County Detective Shane Gregory, Dustin Alan Wright stole a 1995 Ford truck, a 2004 Ford truck, two 2006 Dodge trucks, three 2016 Honda four-wheelers and a 16-foot tandem trailer from residents in Macon County on August 28, October 17, October 22 and December 8 of 2018.

The four-wheelers were valued at $10,000 each, the Dodge trucks were valued at $20,000 each, the Ford truck was valued at $8,000 and the trailer was valued at $1,500. 

The three four-wheelers were found at Wright’s home on Clyde Jones Road and some of the trucks were discovered in another location. 

Mr. Wright was arrested on December 27, 2018 in a one-room cabin where he was staying on Carter Branch Road in Macon County.

At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a 17HMR camouflage bolt action rifle.

Wright was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, vandalism (3 counts), theft of property (7 counts), violation of probation and theft of services. His bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in General Sessions on January 9, 2018. 

“I would like to thank all of the officers involved in this case,” remarked Sheriff Mark Gammons. “This investigation is ongoing, and I would ask the public to please come forward if anyone has more information involving these thefts.”
