Search Warrant Executed: Drugs & Guns Found, Two Arrested

For several months, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department has been working with the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives) to investigate drug activity in our community.
According to Sheriff Mark Gammons, a search warrant was served at the Shrum Cemetery Rd. residence of 38-year-old Jennifer Neal on January 30, 2019.
With assistance from deputies and the Lafayette Police Department, a search of the home revealed 4.5 grams of a crystalized substance that field tested positive for meth, along with digital scales, several baggies, $249 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.
Five long guns were located by authorities in the living room where the narcotics were found. The guns were seized by the ATF.
Also found in a bedroom were 41 white, round pills identified as muscle relaxers and 3 broken Oxycodone halves.
Oscar Hauskins, age 47 of Westmoreland, was also at the residence, and both individuals were apprehended and charged with possession of a schedule II drug, manufacture of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug.
Neal and Hauskins are scheduled to appear in general sessions court on February 6, 2019. They are both being held on $50,000 bond.
