Over 13 Grams of Marijuana in Vehicle

By Jessie Williams

Two Macon County teens were arrested last week after authorities discovered over 13 grams of marijuana in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to a report filed by arresting officer Sergeant Jacob McClard of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, he pulled over a vehicle on Akersville Road with a headlight out just before midnight on February 13, 2019.

The driver was identified as 18-year-old Zeferino Reyes, and the passenger was identified as 19-year-old Adam Cisneros.

While speaking with the driver, Sergeant McClard detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and, after further investigation, discovered approximately 13.5 grams of marijuana inside.

Rolling papers, and other items that indicated the marijuana was to be used for the purpose of resale, were also found.

Macon County Sheriff’s Department Drug K-9 Otto was utilized in this case and made a positive hit on the vehicle for marijuana.

An undetermined amount of cash was seized by authorities, and both men were arrested.

Reyes was found to be in possession of a prescription pill at the time of booking.

He was charged with possession of a legend drug, introduction of drugs into a county institution, manufacture of narcotics, possession of a schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $14,200.

Cisneros was charged with possession of a schedule VI drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture of narcotics. His bond was set at $7,200.

Both men are scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on March 13.
