Following the (sealed) indictment of Hayden T. Froedge, age 20, a bond hearing was held, and his bond was set at $60,000.

Mr. Froedge was able to post bond, and was released from the Macon County Jail the same day.

Froedge is being charged with drag racing, leaving the scene of an accident and drag racing penalty: serious bodily injury (2 counts).

Chronicle readers may recall that Macon County teen Eli Border was killed, and his 17-year-old passenger was injured, following a truck racing wreck on Long Creek Road, near the Johnson Road intersection on June 22, 2018.

Froedge is accused of driving the truck Borders was racing when the crash occurred and fleeing the scene.
