Altercation at Keller’s Bar: Westmoreland Man Charged

A Westmoreland man was arrested in Trousdale County following an altercation at Keller’s Bar located on Hwy. 25 W. in Hartsville.

 

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by the Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department, 35-year-old Casey Wayne Looper, of Westmoreland, Tn., was involved in an altercation at Keller’s Bar with a male subject identified as Joseph B. Carmouche. The altercation became physical inside the bar, then escalated once they were outside in the parking lot.

The report states that Casey Looper pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed the gun in the direction of Carmouche. Derrick Brown was standing approximately 7 to 10 feet behind Carmouche at the time of the incident. Brown stated that he was in fear of serious bodily injury.

Another victim, Kenneth Heitsch, stated that he walked outside to see what was going on, when he heard a gun shot and saw Casey Looper with a handgun pointed in his direction. Heitsch stated that he was also in fear of serious bodily injury.

Casey Wayne Looper was charged with 2 counts of reckless endangerment and was taken into custody in Hartsville on March 8, 2019.

Looper’s bond was set at $40,000 and a Trousdale County Court date is set for April 26, 2019.

Casey Looper was previously charged on February 23rd with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon, by Trousdale County Deputy Wesley Taylor.
