Tigerettes Split Spring Break

The Macon County Schools were on spring break this week but that didn’t stop the Tigerette softball squad from splitting a pair of games.

 

On Apr 2nd Macon traveled to face conference foe Smith County. The Tigerettes run-ruled the Lady Owls, in three innings, by a score of 16-0. Allyson Shoulders got the win throwing two innings and allowed only two hits. Allie Warner came on in relief for one inning of shut-out pitching.

The Tigerettes had multiple hits by Abby Shoulders, Morgan Carter, Madilyn Goodall, and Rachel Ritchie. Multiple runs were plated by Carter, Olivia Belton, Raini Gerometta, Goodall, and Trista Jenkins. Ritchie had four RBIs in the game as well.

On Apr 4th Macon traveled to play the 8AAA Lady Eagles from Shelbyville Central High School. Gerometta began in the circle for the Tigerettes and went two and two-thirds innings allowing four earned runs on five hits. Allyson Shoulders threw three and a third innings of relief allowing four earned runs on nine hits. The Tigerettes almost made a come-back with their first eight batters reaching on seven hits and scoring six runs.

Abby Shoulders was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored while Belton was 2 for 4 with two RBIs as well. Morgan Spivey and Allyson Shoulders had multiple hits as well. Shelbyville Central hangs on for a win by a final score of 10-7.

At press time, the Apr 8th game at Monroe County(KY) was cancelled due to weather. Macon is scheduled to host Westmoreland on Apr 10th and travel to DeKalb County on Apr 11th.
