Meth Rock Found in Woman’s Body Cavity
By Jessie Williams
A canister containing a meth rock was discovered inside the body cavity of a Lafayette woman last week as she was being booked into the Macon County Jail.
According to the Affidavit of Complaint filed by Deputy Jacob McClard, a traffic stop was made Wednesday, April 17, on Carthage Road, after the officer witnessed the driver improperly pass another vehicle on a double-yellow line.
Consent to search the vehicle was given by the driver, 28-year-old Tara Tiffany Hall.
During the search, a removable compartment in the center console was discovered.
Inside the compartment was a digital scale and a pill bottle full of reusable capsules containing a white powdery inside. The powder field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Officer McClard, who is also a certified K-9 handler, did utilize Macon County Sheriff’s Department K-9, Otto, who made a positive indication that narcotics were inside the vehicle.
Hall was arrested and transported to the Macon County Jail, where officers received a tip that she had some type of narcotic in her possession.
At that time, she did admit to having something hidden inside her body cavity when asked by authorities.
Extracted from her body was a small, red canister that contained a plastic wrapper with .6 grams of a crystal substance and a methamphetamine rock that weighed 3.3 grams.
(At this time, no weight has been released for the white powder found inside the reusable capsules in the vehicle.)
Hall was charged with introduction of drugs into a county institution, manufacture/delivery/possession of meth, manufacture of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper passing. Her bond was set at $16,500, and she is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on June 26, 2019.
