Saturday Crash Injures Four

A three vehicle crash late Saturday afternoon on Hwy 52 West near Lambert Lane, sent four people to the hospital, with one transported by medical helicopter.

 

According to crash investigator, Trooper Joshua Brawner, 23-year-old Rodrigo Lopez Martinez was traveling east in a 2002 Dodge Dakota when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, and collided head on with a westbound 2008 Honda Civic driven by 35-year-old Gabriel Jimenez. A westbound 2011 Honda Accord driven by Paula Campbell swerved to avoid the collision. The truck then collided with the Accord, before it overturned and came to final rest off the west bound side of the roadway. The Honda Civic came to final rest on the east bound shoulder and the Honda Accord came to final rest in a private drive, off the west bound side of the roadway.

Rodrigo Martinez was air lifted to Skyline Medical and is listed in critical condition. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Gabriel Jimenez was transported by ambulance to Skyline Medical where he was treated for his injuries and released. His front seat passenger, Florcilda Buctemonte, 44, was taken by ambulance to Skyline and is listed in stable condition. A juvenile, who was in the back seat was also transported by ambulance to Skyline, where he was treated and released. They were all wearing their seat belts.

Paula Campbell and her passenger Alan Hall weren’t injured. They were both wearing their seat belts.

This crash is still under investigation. Everyone involved is listed from Lafayette.

Those responding to the scene included the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Rescue, West Macon Rescue, Lafayette Fire Department, Macon County EMS, Macon County Sheriff’s Office, Westmoreland Police Department, Sumner County EMS, and the Macon County Chronicle.
