Four-Vehicle Pile-Up on Hwy 52

A four vehicle pile up on Hwy. 52 West at White Road, resulted in injuries.

According to crash investigator, THP Sgt. Ashley Mercer, 25-year-old Breanna Wolfe was traveling east on Hwy. 52 West in a Toyota SUV and was stopped to make a left turn on White Road. Shannon Wix, age 46, was stopped behind her in a white Ford F150. Lonnie Walters was also east bound on 52 in a Ford F350 when he failed to stop and hit the Wix vehicle in the rear, knocking it into the Wolfe vehicle. The Wolfe vehicle was knocked into the westbound lane striking a Chevy Avalanche driven by 25-year-old Jessica Perry, of Fountain Run, Ky.

There were two passengers in the Toyota SUV and one passenger in the Ford F150.

The chain reaction wreck resulted in three being transported for injuries and to be checked out. 

Sgt. Mercer stated that Lonnie Walters was cited for due care.

Those responding to the wreck were the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriff’s Office, Macon County EMS, Macon County Rescue, Lafayette Fire Department, and the Macon County Chronicle.
