Junior Tigers Lose to Upperman

The Macon County Junior High Tigers lost their first game of the season to Upperman.

The Thursday night Aug 29th game was also homecoming for the team.

After forcing an Upperman punt, the Tigers took their opening possession deep into the red zone. However a fumble with 0:09 seconds left in the first quarter inside the 10 yard line proved costly for the Tigers.

The Bees took the ball right back down the field and scored to make it 8-0 with 6:48 left in the half. Macon would proceed to drive back down the field and fail to score on a 4th and goal from the Bee 1 yard line. Score at the break was 8-0 Bees.

The third period was back and forth with neither team able to sustain a consistent drive. Tiger Zach Borders would score on a 14 yard run with 2:37 left in the game. However the same isolation play that turned the Tigers away at the end of the first half was unable to get the two point conversion.

The Bees were then able to run out the clock for the win. Final score Upperman 8 Macon Co 6.

The Junior High Tigers will now travel to Carthage to face Smith County on Sep 5th. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
