Jackson County Wins Big Over Bulldogs
The Jackson County Blue Devils scored a touchdown on the second play of the game and three minutes later they scored their second touchdown and the Blue Devils cruised to a outmanned Bulldog team and when the final horn sounded the Blue Devils owned a 48-12 victory.
The Blue Devils threw to wide open receivers which resulted in over 240 yards passing total and they rushed for over 120 yards. The outcome of this game never in doubt as the Blue Devils led at halftime 28-6. The Bulldog touchdown came on a 28 yard pass from Quarterback Aubry Link to Senior receiver Dalton Thompson.
Jackson County put this game away scoring three touchdowns in the third quarter with all three coming on passing plays and mixing in a few runs to keep the Bulldogs defense guessing on defense. The Bulldogs scored their second touchdown on a 24 yard passing play from Link to Thompson in the fourth quarter against the Blue Devils reserves.
The Bulldogs played this game without the services of lineman Devan Hackney who was on crutches from a injury suffered during practice this week and Walker Reynolds who was injured in the first quarter of the game.
A look at some stats from the Jackson County game: Bulldogs 71 yards rushing on 15 carries and 159 passing yards on 11 completions, Dalton Thompson was the main target catching 9 balls for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dylan Templeton had 37 yards on 11 attempts. The Bulldog defensive tackles were: Templeton 6, Zack Swank 6, and Bishop Moore had 5, and Devin Justice was credited with 7 tackles and 2 assists.
The Bulldogs will take their 0-3 record to Jo Byrns this Friday night and then go to Oakdale on Sept.27.
