Meth & Marijuana Stashed in Crotch

A welfare check conducted October 8, 2019 on a woman staying at the Hearthstone Inn, led to two arrests and the discovery of approximately 10.9 grams of meth and 8.4 grams of marijuana stashed in one woman’s crotch. 

 

According to the Affidavit of Complaint filed by Officer Jeff Hix of the Lafayette Police Department, the officer arrived at the Hearthstone Inn to perform a welfare check on a female individual. 

During the welfare check, Officer Hix did encounter 27-year-old Lacie Mae Bentle and 18-year-old Clara Breedlove in the room.

Officer Hix received permission to search the room and found a black pouch with two pipes, three sets of scales, rolling papers and several baggies inside. Bentle stated the items were hers. 

A blue pouch was also found behind the toilet in the bathroom that contained approximately .94 ounces of marijuana, a meth pipe and a straw. Miss Breedlove claimed ownership of these items.

Upon search of Miss Bentle by a female deputy from the Macon County Sheriff’s Department,

approximately 10.9 grams of meth and 8.4 grams of marijuana were found stashed in her crotch.

Upon search of Miss Breedlove by the same female deputy, approximately .5 grams of crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, was found on her person. 

Bentle was charged with possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule VI drug. Her bond was set at $61,000. 

Breedlove was charged with possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule VI drug. Her bond was set at $11,000. 

Both women are scheduled to appear in general sessions court on December 11, 2019.
