Three Arrested on Salt Lick Creek Rd.

By Jessie Williams

Three suspects were arrested last week after local law enforcement arrived at a residence on Salt Lick Creek Rd. to look for a male subject wanted in Kentucky on drug charges.

According to Macon County Detective Shane Gregory, officers visited the home in search of Luther Bowden – wanted for possession of a Schedule II drug in Kentucky.

After detaining Bowden, Detective Gregory and Detective Jacob McClard made contact with individuals in a trailer located behind the home.

One of the individuals, Charles Porter, ran from authorities. Porter was wanted for the sale of methamphetamine.

While Porter ran, he allegedly threw down a plastic bag containing a crystalized substance.

Porter was captured a short time later and arrested.

The substance field tested positive for meth and weighed approximately 16.2 grams. Also found near the plastic bag on the ground was a loaded pistol and snorting straws.

Porter was charged with manufacture/delivery/possession of meth and unlawful possession of a weapon as a convicted felon.

A third man, who also had a warrant out for his arrest, was found to be at the residence. Tyler Duggan was booked into the Macon County Jail on the charge of violation of probation.
