Macon Sails by White County

The Macon County Tigers improved to 5-4 last Friday night as they defeated White County by a final of 48-13 in a cold, wet rain.

Following a botched Warrior punt, Jenkins hit Cameron Mercer on a halfback pass from 10 yards out and Underwood made the extra point to give Macon a 14-0 lead with 8:48 left in the half. On the following Tiger possession Isaac Belton had a 16 yard touchdown run and Underwood missed the PAT. At the half the Tiger’s led 20-0.

Midway thru the third period Belton struck again from 7 yards out and Underwood converted to give Macon a 27-0 lead. It took a well executed hook-and-ladder from 10 yards out by White County to prevent a Tiger shutout with 3:03 left in the third period.

Belton would add two more touchdown runs late in final period as well as Hunter Herron scoring on a 19 yard run. The Tigers would give up a 99 yard kick-off return late in the driving rain. Final score is Macon 48 White County 13.
