Fatal Accident on Jimtown Road

Mr. Mikie Meador, of the Enon Community, sustained fatal injuries in an ATV accident on Monday, October 28th. He was 58.

 

A preliminary incident report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, states that Mikie was driving south on the Jimtown Road in a 2016 Polaris Ranger XP 900 (ATV) Side By Side, when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve. His vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the ditch, which caused it to overturn. Mikie was ejected from the vehicle. The Side by Side came to final rest on the passenger’s side, in the ditch line facing east.     

Mikie passed away at the Macon Community Hospital ER.

Funeral services for Mikie Meador were held on Thursday, October 31, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Elder Kevin Harrison and Elder Todd Austin officiating. He was laid to rest in the Liberty Cemetery.

He is survived by sons: Brandon & wife Katelyn Meador, of the Coleytown Community, and Landon Meador, of Red Boiling Springs; granddaughters: Maylee, Kayslee and Laiklee Meador; mother: Ruth Austin Meador, of the Coleytown Community; sisters: Pam & husband Donnie Steen, and Rhonda & husband Terry Cook, all of Lafayette; brothers: Ricky & wife Jackie Meador, of the Webbtown Community, Robby Meador & companion Marquetta Carlisle, of the Enon Community; a host of nieces and nephews.
