Bulldogs lose to Clay County

The Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs traveled on Friday night for a Region 4-A contest against the Clay County Bulldogs.

Clay County ran all over the RBS claiming a 48-0 victory.

The score of last Friday night football game is not the story line of our final report as our story is about star running back Dalton Thompson who was playing his final game for Red Boiling Springs. Dalton suffered a broken ankle and he was taken to Livingstone hospital by ambulance.

Also Dylan Temptleon who has played great all year broke his collarbone and was taken to Macon County General Hospital. Both of these young athletes will require surgery in their condition. Both of these young athletes gave everything once they crossed the white line and they led by example.

The Bulldogs went into this game with a chance to go to the playoffs and that chance faded away with the loss. Clay County has a very good team and look for these kids to make some noise with a powerful running attack plus a outstanding passing game.

The football program at Red Boiling Springs has a numbers problem and that number has to go way up if the Bulldogs expect to compete or even continue the program.
