An Act of Goodwill: Giveaway at First Assembly Of God

By Debbie Gregory

In an act of goodwill, the First Assembly of God will host a giveaway this Saturday, November 16th, from 8 am till 11 am in the church parking lot, located at 130 Akersville Road, in Lafayette.

According to First Assembly Pastor David Spears, the giveaway will be as long as the supply lasts. “There will be non perishable foods, soap, detergent, cleaning supplies, bottled water, and etc.,” said the pastor. “Everyone in Macon County is invited to stop by. We have partnered with Convey of Hope, who help rural areas and churches.”

“We want to be an extension of God’s hand,” said Pastor Spears. “We want people to know we have resources available for folks needing help from time to time. Our church is excited about Saturday, and we are praying for a great day.”

Pastor Spears also wants to announce that the Macon County Ministerial Association will host a Thanksgiving service at the First Assembly of God on November 19th, at 6 p.m. with desserts afterwards in the Fellowship Hall.

The Ministerial Association’s officers are: President Mark Templeton, Vice President David Spears, and Secretary Bryan Morgan.
