Meth & Paraphernalia Seized During Traffic Stop

By Jessie Williams

Timothy F. Reid, age 40, was arrested and charged with two counts of probation violation, manufacture/delivery/possession methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving an unregistered vehicle following a routine traffic stop on November 14.

According to the Affidavit of Complaint filed by Sergeant Kyle Petty of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, the officer observed a black, Chevy Tracker with no visible tag driving on Tanyard Road and attempted to pull the vehicle over.

While pulling the vehicle over, the officer noted that he witnessed the driver throw something from the window.

Once the driver pulled over, Officer Petty was able to identify Mr. Reid and discovered that he had outstanding warrants out for his arrest for violating his probation.

Mr. Reid was searched, and a small container, containing what is believed to be methamphetamine, was found on his person.

Detectives arrived to assist in the investigation, and the items thrown from the vehicle were recovered. A set of scales, baggies and additional methamphetamine were among the items.

The meth seized during the traffic stop weighed approximately 2 grams.

Reid’s bond was set at $3,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on December 11, 2019.
