St. Jude Charity Auction this Saturday
By Debbie Gregory
As we enter a new decade, Ben Bray will step on the platform once again this Saturday, January 11th, 2020, to conduct the 10th Annual St. Jude Charity Auction, sponsored by Ben Bray Real Estate & Auction, in Lafayette.
The event will be held at the Sally Wells Building, located at the Macon County Fairgrounds, in Lafayette, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be lots of items to bid on!
Over the years, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has developed protocols that have helped push the overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when they first opened in 1962 to 80 percent today, and with your generous support the hospital is able to continue their life-saving research and treatment. By making donations you will be helping the hospital’s mission of finding cures and saving children’s lives.
“St. Jude’s is ran strictly on donations made by people and organizations just like yourself,” Bray said, “All the money raised from this event will go directly to the hospital and their daily operations.”
Bray said that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and is a leader in pediatric cancer research and treatment. St. Jude treats over 5,000 patients each year regardless of their ability to pay, with several children from Macon County being treated there in previous years. “I am proud to partner with this center and to coordinate a benefit auction for their battle against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases,” said Bray.
