Emergency responders were called to the area of 6402 Highway 52 West, in Macon County, late Saturday night, February 8, to the scene of a deadly three-vehicle wreck.

According to a report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Timber A. Fiscus, of Lafayette, was driving east on Highway 52 West in a 2017 GMC Terrain, when she was passed on the shoulder by a 2005 Toyota Scion driven by 19-year-old Carson Borders, of Westmoreland. The Toyota struck the Terrain on the right side causing minor damage. The Toyota then crossed into the westbound lane of travel, colliding with a 2013 Ford Transit driven by 57-year-old Michael L. Howard, of Nashville. The impact caused both vehicles to rotate clockwise and come to rest in the westbound lane and shoulder.

Michael Howard was airlifted to a Nashville hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
