Trousdale County Wreck Kills Two: Five fatalities in Less Than a Week on Area Highways

By Debbie Gregory

Two more people were killed on another one of our area highways, when a tractor-trailer and a car crashed on Highway 10 South last Wednesday, February 12, in neighboring Trousdale County.

Less than a week before, on February 8, a 19-year-old boy, a 20-year-old girl, and a 57-year old man were killed in a 3-vehicle wreck on Highway 52 West in Macon County.

That’s five traffic fatalities, in less than a week, on our area highways.

According to the report by investigating officer, Trooper Tracy Donoho, 20-year-old Adrianne Torres, of Lebanon, was driving a 2003 Cadillac on Wednesday morning, when she pulled out from Old Lafayette Road onto Hwy. 10 and into the path of a southbound Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 42-year-old Ryan Huffman of Huntington, Tn. The tractor-trailer struck the car on the driver’s side, flipping it onto its top. Both vehicles came to rest along the northbound shoulder of Hwy. 10.

Torres was transported to Skyline Hospital in critical condition and her two passengers, 19-year-old Ayjen Miles, of Hartsville, and 18-year-old Lennasha Dowell-Harper, of Lebanon, were killed.

Ryan Huffman wasn’t injured in the wreck.

The report states that Torres and Huffman were wearing their seatbelts, and Miles and Harper weren’t.
