By Jessie Williams

One suspect remains in jail after a go-kart, and other items reported stolen from a residence on Gamaliel Rd., were recovered by local law enforcement last week.

According to Chief Deputy Bryon Satterfield, the residential theft was reported in early May. Among the items reported stolen were a go-kart, a go-kart motor, hand tools, and other miscellaneous items valued at over $2,500.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office was able to obtain evidence during its investigation that led to an apartment in Red Boiling Springs.

Officers arrived at the residence on Tuesday, June 9, and interviewed the resident – Eric Ingram.

Consent to search the apartment was given and numerous items from the Gamaliel Rd. theft were recovered.

It was discovered that some of the stolen items had been sold, and the go-kart was located at another residence in Red Boiling Springs.

All of the recovered items were brought to the Macon County Sheriffs Office, where they were identified by the owner.

Ingram, who also had an active indictment out on him for meth charges, was charged with theft of property, criminal trespassing, mfg/del/sale/poss of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, helmet required, and ATV on the road.

His bond was set at $31,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on June 24, 2020.
