BabyNov USA Factory to Open in RBS

 By Jessie Williams

The baby food company, BabyNov, has purchased the former Nestle Waters plant in Red Boiling Springs with hopes to begin operations in mid-2021.

BabyNov was founded in October 2019 and operates seven factories in France.

The Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, BabyNov USA factory will be the first location in the United States.

BabyNov produces baby food products, in various formats, with fruits, vegetables, cereals and meat.

“Babynov stands out over other companies because we focus only on baby food and nothing else,”  said Babynov USA, CEO Bruno Romand-Monnier. “Thus, Babynov is an expert at understanding what parents want for their children and how to produce with a high level of quality. Babies are the most sensitive beings, and it is our duty to deliver food that is tasty, nutritious, and safe for them.”

BabyNov is family-owned and headquartered in Paris, France, with operations in a few smaller cities in France as well. The company currently employs 750 people in France.

Bruno says there are several factors that went into the decision to locate the company’s first US factory in Red Boiling Springs.

“We chose RBS, first because of the great support shown by the people of Tennessee and by the Tennessee Economic Development team,” he explained. “We heard great feedback about the quality and engagement of the workforce. We love the quality of the environment, and the beautiful nature surrounding our factory; the great quality of the environment will also help deliver high quality products. Finally, the building made by Nestlé Waters is in excellent condition and fits really well our needs.”

The products made at the Red Boiling Springs factory will be shipped across the US and Canada.

Because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, the company has had to come up with ways to work in the RBS factory remotely.

“We do think of all those who were personally hurt by COVID-19 – being sick, losing a loved one or losing a job. We hope that Macon County, Tennessee, and the USA will recover fast and well,” said Bruno.

BabyNov already has two US full-time employees on staff and is currently recruiting for select management positions.

A wider recruitment for a full factory team is expected in early 2021.

In the coming months, BabyNov will be making the necessary renovations to the factory required for its production process.

The Macon County Chronicle will be providing an update on the factory’s progress at the end of the year.
