Fatal Wreck on Maple Grove Road

A young Macon County man, 26-year-old William Lee Bandy, was fatally injured in a one-vehicle wreck on Maple Grove Road last Wednesday morning, July 29.

 

According to the report by wreck investigator, Trooper Adam Cothron, William Bandy was traveling south on Maple Grove Road in a white 2000 Cadillac Deville. While traveling downhill and negotiating a curve to the left, his vehicle traveled off the road to the right, and struck a standing tree. The vehicle continued south striking another standing tree, and came to final rest on its left side in a creek.

Mr. Bandy was extricated from the vehicle, and he sustained fatal injuries.

Funeral services for William Bandy, 26, were held on Friday, July 31, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, in Lafayette, with Brother Jon Warner officiating. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
