Man Arrested for DUI & Shooting Gun

By Jessie Williams

A 28-year-old Bowling Green, Kentucky, man was arrested by Macon County law enforcement last week after he allegedly showed up at an ex-girlfriend’s house, while under the influence, and shot a gun into the air.

According to the report written by arresting officer Deputy Logan Swindle, he and Deputy Austin Cliburn arrived at the Maple Terrace area on September 12, after a domestic situation was reported involving a woman and her ex-boyfriend.

Upon their arrival, the woman claimed that when she arrived home, her ex-boyfriend – Gzim Mustafa – was parked in her driveway. Following a verbal argument between the two, the woman said she went inside and heard three gunshots.

Mustafa had already left the scene when authorities initially arrived, but they observed his vehicle return to the area during their investigation and performed a traffic stop.

A field sobriety test was administered, and he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

Deputies did locate a pistol and two empty magazines inside Mustafa’s car, at which time he admitted to firing the weapon inside the vehicle.

Mr. Mustafa was charged with aggravated assault, driving under the influence, evading arrest, possession of a weapon while under the influence, and reckless endangerment.

His bond was set at $23,500, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on November 18.
