Ben Scruggs Passes Away Following Wreck
A 42-year-old Lafayette man lost his life following a wreck last Friday, January 8.
Ben Scruggs was a member of Strong Tower Church and an employee at Henkel in Bowling Green, KY. He was on his way to work at the time of the wreck.
His full obituary is below:
Benjamin Ellis Scruggs, age 42 of Lafayette, TN passed away Friday afternoon, January 8, 2021 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Ben is at the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette.
Funeral Services for Ben Scruggs will be conducted Wednesday morning, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Strong Tower Church in Lafayette with Jeremy Meador officiating. Interment will follow in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.
Visitation with the family will begin on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette and then visitation will be moved to Strong Tower Church in Lafayette on Wednesday morning with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until his service time at 11:00 a.m.
Family requests memorials be made to the Waymakers Counseling Center for drug addiction in Lafayette, TN. You may make your memorials by calling or coming by the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette.
The family also respectfully asks that anyone attending the visitation or the service to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
He is survived by: wife, Melissa Scruggs, son & daughter-in-law, Mason & Abbey Scruggs, daughters, Paisley Scruggs & Ziva Scruggs, parents, Andy Scruggs & Donna McCrory, grandson, Conor Scruggs, all of Lafayette, maternal grandparents, Charles & Kay McCrory, uncles, David McCrory all of Portland, Bill & Ann McCrory of Crossplains, aunts, Jane Phillips, Pat & Tommy Dixon, & Deb Ruud all of Hartsville.
