Five Search Warrants Executed

By Jessie Williams

Officers from the Macon County Sheriff’s Department executed five search warrants earlier this month in locations across Macon County, resulting in five arrests and the seizure of drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.

According to detectives they seized meth, marijuana, cash obtained in the sale of drugs, handguns, syringes, pipes and various stolen property.

One of the warrants, executed on March 4 at 50 Clearview Lane, was the result of an investigation into drug activity at the residence.

During their search of the property, officers discovered approximately 22 grams of meth, approximately 85 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The residents, 46-year-old Scotty Mungle and 41-year-old Beverly Patterson, were both arrested and charged with manufacture/delivery/possession of meth, manufacture/delivery/possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were each given a bond of $14,000.

The investigation into all of five cases is ongoing.

Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons would like to thank all of the officers involved, and urges anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity in our community to contact his office. Callers may remain anonymous.
