New Principals Selected for RBS Elementary and MCHS

By Jessie Williams

New principals have been selected by Macon County Director of Schools Tony Boles, for both Macon County High School and Red Boiling Springs Elementary School.

Filling the position at Red Boiling Springs will be former RBSES teacher Leslie Goad, and taking over at MCHS will be former Central Elementary School principal Daniel Cook.

The two principal positions became vacant after the resignation of former MCHS principal Ben Johnson and the transition of Michael Owens from RBSES principal to Attendance Coordinator for the Macon County School System.

“Both Leslie and Daniel will be good principals for their respective schools,” Director Boles remarked. “Daniel has been principal at Central Elementary for over 7 years and Leslie has over 6 years of teaching experience at Red Boiling Springs Elementary.”

Goad and Cook will begin their official duties as principals on July 1, 2021.

The Central Elementary School principal position, formerly held by Cook, has been posted by the school system. Applicants will be reviewed after 10 days.
