Two Macon County Men Killed in Wilson Co. Crash

Two Macon County men, 50-year-old James “Jamie” Woodard and 24-year-old Cody Perdue, were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Wilson County on Monday night, August 30, 2021.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary crash report, Jamie Woodard was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry (Vehicle 1) and Paul O’Neal-Graves, 18, of Lebanon, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram (Vehicle 2).

Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on Highway 231 and Vehicle 2 was traveling southbound in the 4400 block of Hunters Point Pike. As the two vehicles approached each other Vehicle 1 swerved across the center dividing line striking Vehicle 2 at an angle, causing it to spin off the roadway to the left. Vehicle 1 continued and ran off the roadway to the left striking a tree. The two occupants of Vehicle 1, Jamie Woodard and passenger Cody Perdue, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The report states that Paul O’Neal Graves wasn’t injured.

The crash investigation is still ongoing.
