Sheriff’s Dept. Recovers Stolen Calf

The Macon County Sheriff’s Department recently recovered a bull calf and a Honda 2-inch water pump that were both reported stolen from a Macon County residence in late January 2022. 

According to detective Kevin Woodard the owner reported the theft on January 26, 2022, stating that the calf and pump were taken from his Winklers Road residence sometime between January 22 and January 23.

Flash forward to March 8, 2022, when Woodard and detective Shane Gregory are working on another theft case, and they receive information on the calf’s location from a confidential informant. 

The officers arrived at the Old Highway 52 address given by the informant and located the calf, identifying distinct markings with photos provided by the owner.

The owner was contacted and the calf was recovered.

The informant was also able to provide officers with information about the location of the stolen water pump, which was recovered and identified by the owner on March 9, 2022. 

The case is currently still under investigation, and charges are pending.
